NORTHERN EXPOSURE

Suzy and I traveled north with the camper to the Sheep n Wool festival in Rhinebeck, NY, then on to the Daileys in Delmar, NY and finally to the Snyders in Becket, MA, before returning home to Manassas. Lots of Fun, Foliage, Friends, and Family

Dueling Tractors..........."farm boys"

You are what your roots produced, and the "apple doesn't fall far from the tree"

Roger and I share mowing time at the Sandpatch (Mance) retreat venue.

The "tractors" are appropriately colored for college history.

HERSHEY.....1st camper trip.

Suzy, Tululah and I ventured forth the day AFTER Labor Day to Hershey Highmeadow Campground in PA. The place had flushed out the day before and we were among 15 or so campers in a 300+ space campground.

The "Volunteer".....tomato

Suzy pulled this "weed" from a crack in the driveway. It smelled like tomato, so she scooped out a hole and inserted it in the ground. It is now 5' tall and still growing. She has named it the "volunteer", and it produces tomatoes within arm's reach of the deck dinner table.

Sandpatch revisited

The color, this year, at Sandpatch had to be provided by Michaels. Oklahoma trips and a hot, dry summer doomed the real thing!

The local ice cream stand in Meyersdale has better treats than spellers!!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Oklahoma has intrinsic beauty .........and beasts. I spotted this guy (RATTLESNAKE) three feet from my bare legs and ankles when I was out on the grassy brush looking for wild boars

Maine(ly) Smith.......KENNEBUNK.ROAD TRIP!!

July 19-22 provided us a summer respite with Laura, Lindsay, Sophie, and Charlie in Kennebunk, ME.

Sunrise walks on the beach (avec dogs) and sunset thunder storms from the porch (sans dogs) made the delightful days of pool fun, pub fun, and sun fun, all the more memorable

Seagulls attacking our pizza in Old Orchard Beach called for evasive action.
